Sparkling Pools is always looking for qualified candidates to become lifeguards. In order to be a lifeguard you must be at least 15 years old and a good swimmer.
Step 1 � Come to an Interview- First, complete the online application or call the main office at (609) 426-4252.
- Next, schedule an interview (request one online or call.)
- If you are hired at your interview, you will be offered a job and a rate of pay.
- Then, sign up for Lifeguard Training classes.
- Your job offer depends upon successful completion of the Lifeguard Training course.
- We teach American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
- You do not have to take classes with Sparkling Pools, but you must be certified before you can work.
- Fee for the class is $150.
The season begins on May 24, 2008 � Memorial Day Weekend. As a lifeguard you should expect to complete any/all of the following tasks while you are at work:
- Watching the swimmers and swimming pool area to make sure everyone is safe.
- Making sure that everyone at the pool follows the pool rules.
- Taking steps to prevent accidents from happening (for example: reminding children not to run on the wet concrete.)
- Providing help for a swimmer in trouble or someone who needs first aid.
- Cleaning and maintenance of the pool and pool area. These duties might include: vacuuming and skimming the pool, cleaning pool tiles, brushing the pool, emptying the skimmer baskets, tidying and cleaning the pool furniture, sweeping the deck and testing the pool water.
